The Connectome
The Connectome is a large-scale biomorphic installation exploring the relationship between individual internal states and shared systems.
Participants engage through a button console that activates distinct emotional and cognitive states. Each interaction sends curated light patterns rippling through the brain-like structure—layering, intensifying, and overlapping as more people participate.
The installation becomes a living visualization of collective input, inviting reflection on how individual states influence shared systems—and how connection can guide us back toward balance and homeostasis
For The Connectome, Biomorphic Studios has partnered with Space Cadet Lighting as lead lighting designers and Figment Functional Art (formerly Illuminera Studios), a fabrication studio with over a decade of experience building large scale installations for music, art, and public events.
